Koufi Petra Monastery

This monastery is mentioned indirectly on a contract of the monastery of Aretiou in the year 1630. The monastery remained abandoned for an unknown period of time, and was reestablished in 1866. The northern aisle, dedicated to the Annunciation, was founded in the 19th century, while the southern one, dedicated to the Birth of the Virgin Mary, was built in 1996. The rest of the buildings date back to the 19th and mainly the 20th century, as a result of the expansion and increased needs of the monastery.
