Vrysses
The village of Vrysses is located at an altitude of 400m, on the northern slope of mount Kavalara, south of the Mirabello plain. The village is a place with a healthy dry climate and lush vegetation. The Fountain (1887) of the village is impressive and features a wonderfully engraved plaque. To the west of the Fountain we find the Temple of Afentis Christos (1863) of remarkable architecture with superb wood carved elements. The archaeological findings (14th-1st centuries B.C.) on the hill of Profitis Ilias and at the enchanting rural area of Drasi indicate that the greater area of Vrysses has been inhabited since the Prehistoric Age.
