Vrachassi

Vrachassi is built amphitheatrically on the southern slope of mountain Anavlochos, at an altitude of 360 meters above sea. The name Vrachassi is said to derive from the word “vrachos” (rock). Due to its location, many battles took place there during the Greek Revolution.

Moreover, this is where Ancient Anavlochos, a steep mountain, is located. On this inaccessible place, traces of a post-Minoan (9th to 6th century BC) settlement were found, with water tanks, walls, tombs, and a sanctuary.
